The nation's President shares a building with the Sheraton Hotel. Changing of the guard each hour was a true spectacle, as they march in their "raffish Raritanian uniforms." Behind was the Svet (St.) George rotunda -- Sofia's oldest preserved building (4th century AD, rebuilt in the 6th century and largely restored by the Sheraton). There were Roman ruins between the church and the Presidency, including some ancient baths.
