Apart from breakfast food from nearby Mega Market, all our meals were eaten out. Sofia had many upscale downtown restaurants. And our university cafeteria was excellent (top left above). But we often had quick bites from food stands or at our favorite deli near the St. George ruins -- serving excellent "hot dogs" in baquette buns. Shopska Salad was the national specialty -- tomatoes, cucumbers and grated feta cheese. Delicious -- and healthy, too!
