A well-traveled colleague once said that he judged a new country largely by its public restrooms. Most of them were clean and efficient in Bulgaria, like those at the law school (shown here) -- even when they were only holes in the floor. We found this to be true at the internet shop, subway, airport, parks, cafes, etc. Our dorm bathroom was also neat, clean -- and private!
