Unlike our slow and scenic return bus trip from to the academic conference at the Black Sea on Sat. 11/1/08 (shown on the pages above), our trip there from Sofia on Thurs., 10/30/08 was on modern freeways. As we whizzed past Plovdiv, the 2nd largest city, we enjoyed the company of UNWE law faculty and several students. After a full day of travel, our bus arrived at the University's resort, just one block from the beach, which we could see from our lovely room. Our lodging was more spacious than our digs at the student village -- even its all-purpose bathroom. The weather was beautiful, the food was delicious and our traveling companions were the very best!
